2010 BHC Camps & Clinics

BHC Summer Camps and Clinics Announced !

BHC Elite Camps will offer two Checking Clinics during the Spring and Summer. Dates and times TBA. The 2010 BHC Spring and Summer  Skills Clinics will also focus on body contact, angling and checking.


2010 BHC SPRING AND SUMMER SKILLS CLINICS MAY-JULY

BHC Spring and Summer Skills:

AGES: Four age groups, Mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam

ICE TIME: 20 one-hour sessions

COST:  $350.00 per player ($17.50 per session) Mites cost, $280.00

SKILL LEVEL: C-AAA

MAX. NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 30 per age group

Mondays, May 24th-July 26th       Tuesdays, May 25th-July 27th

Mites 5:15-6:15   pm                        Peewees 5:15-6:15 pm

Squirts 6:30-7:30 pm                        Bantams 6:30-7:30 pm

 

Saturdays, May 29th-July 24th

Squirts 9:00-10:00 am

Peewees 10:15-11:15 am

Mites 4:30-5:30 pm


CLINIC DESRIPTION: Brent Cullaton, Matt Huckins Jimmy Dexter along with 2010-2011 BHC Coaches and Instructors will conduct these sessions. Each Instructor will bring his specialty or “flair” to each clinic. Giving players multiple ways to hone their skating and stick skills.

Skills Day-  Skating, stride work and mechanics, edges, cross overs and unders, fwd and bwd skating, lateral movement, stops, starts, belts leashes and overspeed training with bungee cords, stickhanding passing and shooting. Shooting technique for, wristers, snap, slap, backhand and one time shooting, stick skills, making moves proper hand technique, saucer passes, fakes, dekes, players will be given the opportunity to take 50-100 reps with a puck each session.

Small Games and Scrimmage Day- Just like it sounds, “Game Day” instructors and coaches will chose different kind of games and competitions that players will compete in. Players can take things they worked on during their skill session and apply to game situation.


BHC ELITE SCORING CAMP - “CULLY’S SCORING CAMP July 5th-9th”

BHC Elite Sniper Camp:

Ages: 8-18

Cost: $299.00

Ice Time: 15 hrs on ice, four 50 minute on ice sessions a day!

Skill Level: A-AAA

Max. Number of players: 30 per age group

Featuring and run by current Jr. Bison Head Coach and former 12 year Pro Player Brent Cullaton, Brent has scored over 500 points in the AHL, ECHL, CHL.

 

Session I: All about your hands! Honing your stick skills. Players will be split into groups based on age and skill level; each group will work on their own stick skills. Players will be pushed to hone their own skills while learning new “moves” and techniques. We put the PUCK on your stick for 50. Min.

 

Session II: BHC will have 4-6 nets on the ice with 8-10 goalies. There will be 1-2 Instructors at each station. Cully will work station to station doing “demos” while players work on a different shots and techniques at each station. Wrister, Snap Shot, Slap Shot, Backhand, One Timers, Receive and Shoots.

 

Session III: Dekes, Walkouts, Shooting off give and goes, Tips, Deflections, Puck Protection, How to read rebounds. Where to shoot the puck and when. All in small groups and stations, working with players of similar ability.

 

Session IV: Take the skills you have honed in stations earlier in the day and put them to test. Flow drills and skill drills in “live” full ice game situations.

BHC AA PROSPECTS CAMP JULY, 26-30 2010

BHC Elite AA Prospects Camp:

Cost: $299.00

Ice Time: 15 hrs on ice, four 50 minute on ice sessions a day!

Skill Level: A-AAA

Max number of players: Mid-Ban & Sq–Pw, 30 per age group


CAMP DESCRIPTION: BHC Directors Brent Cullaton, Matt Huckins and Jimmy Dexter will run the BHC AA Prospects Camp with help from current and former AAA, Junior and College players.


Session I- Offensive and Defensive players will work on skating techniques specific to their position. Learning or reinforcing proper technique, followed by an up tempo drill to push players outside their comfort zone.

 

Session II- Players will work on their stick skills, handling; passing and shooting the puck in areas that are specific to their position.


Session III- Players will take their skill set and interact with players on the ice in flow and line rush drills, working on the skills need to perform breakouts, 1-2-3 attack principles, cycling, puck protection one timing pucks…

 

Session IV- Small Games and Competitions. Pushing players “compete level”, learning how to “battle while receiving live game feedback from instructors. This will all be done in confined areas, ½ ice ¼ ice areas. These areas are called the “trenches” where games are won and lost!

BHC Elite Boot Camp:

Ages: 8-18

Cost: $299.00

Ice Time: 15 hrs on ice

Skill Level: B-AAA

Max. Number of players: 35 per age group

 

BHC Directors Matt Huckins, Brent Cullaton and Jimmy Dexter will run the Camp with help from their Elite Skill Development Staff.

 

CAMP DESCRIPTION:

The BHC Boot camp is designed to help players’ gear up for tryouts. All on ice sessions are very high tempo and the number one focus is conditioning. Morning sessions will focus on Power Skating and Edges. The afternoon sessions will focus on battle drills, flow drills, 1-1 competitions, body checking and small games.

Off ice training will begin with a run up “The Hill”, a 1-mile uphill jog along McCasilin Boulevard and into Rock Creek Park. Players will work on overspeed training and plyometrics in the park. Developing the stamina, upper and lower body strength needed to compete at the top levels. Players will then return back down the hill on a 1-mile cool down run and stretch at the Rink.
