Boulder Hockey Club

Although BHC will have a few Summer Tournament Teams that is not our purpose At BHC we believe in Skill Development over Games. Our goal is to offer an Elite Environment, in order to train and hone your player’s skill set. We are preparing players to win games and tournaments during the CCYHL and Traditional Hockey Season.

USA Hockey has developed this philosophy from the Russian and European Programs that continually produce players with a more advanced skill set. Traditional hockey camps have you skate in straight lines in power skating, passing, shooting or stick handling drills. You will not see this traditional style from BHC. They will teach your player and improve their entire skill set in flow drills and small game situations. Very rarely do you see players skate or stick handle in straight lines so why teach this way? If you feel your player’s skill set has grown stagnant or your player struggles to put his/her skills to use in games, come and see what we at BHC are all about.

- Todd Paxton- Current Bison Midget Major AA coach and instructor, former Michigan Tier I(AAA), prep school and junior player.

- Jason Miller- Current BHC Instructor, former BVYHA, Shattuck Saint Mary’s, EJHL junior hockey player and CU player.

- Chris Lockrem- Current Aspen Hockey Director and Aspen HS Coach, former SHS owner, CSU Captain and Ohio HS State Champion.

- Andrew Zimmerman- Current and returning Bison Squirt A - Head Coach, former BVYHA Minor AA Coach, Major AA Coach, and NY youth and Junior player.

All of the BHC instructors and coaches above will bring an area of expertise to our program. Matt Huckins and Jimmy Dexter are all former Professional Power Skating & Skills Instructors. Both worked together for many US and Canadian Hockey Schools over the past 10 years and share the same philosophies. Guys like Brent Cullaton, an All-Star for the Rocky Mountain Rage will bring a “Pro’s Perspective” on and off the ice to the BHC Staff. Brent will speak with players about their paths to the pros. Brent will aslo bring in other Pro's from the CHL and the Colorado Avalanche to speak with players about thier playing career's. Their minor and junior careers in Canada and how they got to where they are now. Recommendations and paths youth players in Colorado can take as they “chase the pro hockey dream”.
