BHC Elite Hockey Camps is proud to bring in 12 year Pro Brent Cullaton as the 2009 Summer Camp Director!
Brent Cullaton - Former CHL Rocky Mountain Rage Captain/Coach and current Laredo Buck is joining our Staff again for the 2009 season. Brent is in his second year working with BHC Elite Camps. Brent grew up in Eastern Canada and brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience. Being a 12-year professional player in the AHL, ECHL and CHL and a former NCAA Div I player Brent has become a valuable commodity to BHC. Brent’s out going personality and mind-boggling skill set will have players excited to take their game to the next level. Don’t be surprised to see Brent shooting pucks at a 6:00 am Stick and Puck prior to a Camp or Clinic, he just loves the game that much and brings that kind of passion to the rink everyday!
Matt Huckins & Jimmy Dexter, current Boulder Bison Hockey Directors and former SHS owners and directors, will oversee all Programs on and off the ice during the Spring and Summer. Both Matt and Jimmy bring a vast amount of playing, instructing and coaching experience to BHC. From their minor hockey playing days in New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts to their 12 years of coaching and instructing in the Rocky Mountain District and Colorado.
Jimmy is a former Div III player and has gift for teaching Power Skating. Jimmy is coming off his second straight year of coaching the Bison’s U16 team to first place in the CCYHL. He has been coaching minor hockey and high school hockey for 10 years and coached college hockey prior to that.
Matt has been coaching hockey since he was 22, coaching Midget AAA-Squirt A over the last 10 years, last year he took the 2008 Midget U 18 Boulder Bison team to Nationals placing 5th in the country. Prior to minor hockey Matt coached prep school and college hockey and currently coaches the USA Hockey National Select Festivals. Both Matt and Jimmy worked for various hockey companies in the US and Canada taking a little something from all the great instructors that they have had the privileged to work with in the past.
Although BHC will have a few Summer Tournament Teams that is not our purpose. At BHC we believe in Skill Development over Games. Our goal is to offer an Elite Environment, in order to train and hone your player’s skill set. We are preparing players to win games and tournaments during the CCYHL and Traditional Hockey Season.
USA Hockey has developed this philosophy from the Russian and European Programs that continually produce players with a more advanced skill set. Traditional hockey camps have you skate in straight lines in power skating, passing, shooting or stick handling drills. You will not see this traditional style from BHC. They will teach your player and improve their entire skill set in flow drills and small game situations. Very rarely do you see players skate or stick handle in straight lines so why teach this way? If you feel your player’s skill set has grown stagnant or your player struggles to put his/her skills to use in games, come and see what we at BHC are all about.
